Private UI evaluation / Synthetic only

Test the interface.
Not the real world.

A fictional learning environment for software testing. Explore UI evaluation with synthetic scenarios, clear checkpoints, and no real-world transactions.

For private practice. Never for production.

Our ground rules

Practice with clear limits.

Synthetic by design
Fictional examples only. No real customer information or live business activity.
Private by purpose
UI evaluation stays a learning exercise, not outreach or public publishing.
No live operations
No sales, payments, uploads, or integrations. Focus on the interface itself.

The learning path

Small scenarios.
Sharper observations.

Use these three exercises to move from a first impression to a structured UI evaluation.

01 / Observe

Read the interface first.
Begin with a fictional settings screen. Identify the primary action, inspect the labels, and note what a first-time user needs to understand.
Observation sheetSynthetic exercise
  • 01 Is the next action easy to find?
  • 02 Do labels explain the outcome?
  • 03 Is the current state clear?

02 / Challenge

Think beyond the happy path.

Consider an empty list, an invalid field, or an unavailable action. Describe the feedback each synthetic state should provide, including keyboard focus and recovery guidance.

03 / Explain

Make the finding reproducible.

Practice writing a finding with a starting state, steps, expected behavior, and observed behavior. Keep every detail fictional and within the private exercise.

Start with curiosity

One screen. A better question.

Return to the observation sheet and choose one thing to examine. Keep it synthetic. Keep it focused.
